India's Premier 48-Hour Technical Championship & Autonomous Innovation Sprint
Ashwa 2026 is the ultimate crucible for collegiate and early-career developers, software architects, and AI researchers. Compete across 6 specialized high-impact tracks, receive 1-on-1 direct mentorship from industry leaders, and present your working system to top tier venture capitalists and technical founders. No slide-deck theater — pure engineering, measurable real-world problem resolution, and verified execution.
Why this exists
This is a competitive building experience: take a problem seriously, shape an idea together, and put something real in front of people.
01Zero Disposable Toy Code. Every challenge is grounded in industrial, infrastructural, or biological realities. We encourage open-source production releases.
02Decoupled 1-on-1 Mentorship. Mentors are paired directly with teams, actively doing code reviews, architectural whiteboarding, and unblocking hard technical bottlenecks.
03Transparent & Tamper-Proof Rubrics. Judges evaluate against publicly visible weighted scoring criteria. No subjective back-room decisions or arbitrary point deductions.
04Direct Capital & Incubation Fast-Track. Top teams gain immediate entry into GearFreezee Labs, cloud credit grants up to $10,000, and angel investor intro sessions.
The competition
Every stage moves the work forward. Teams meet a mentor, compete within their branch, and the strongest team from each branch earns a place in the final.
Form a crew of 2–4 builders, choose your specialization track, and lock in your team identity.
Submit your system design document. Top teams are paired with senior technical mentors from Tier-1 tech firms.
Independent rubric scoring across technical depth, problem scope, and architectural soundess.
Non-stop physical hacking, midnight code checkpoints, high-speed prototyping, and hardware testing.
Present live on the main stage to institutional investors and industry leaders to claim the ₹5,00,000+ prize pool.
Choose your field
This event runs across 6 branches. Every team represents exactly one.

Teams in “Round 1: Architectural Blueprint & Abstract Review” are scored against the rubric below. Each criterion has a fixed weighting and a maximum score, and every judge scores independently.
Depth of architectural design, component modularity, and engineering feasibility.
Does this tackle an authentic, pressing challenge with an innovative approach?
Pragmatic choice of tools, databases, and achievable milestones for 48 hours.
Balanced capability across frontend, backend, AI/ML, and system integration.
Final and later rounds may use a different rubric. The rubric in effect for each round is shared with judges before scoring begins.
Support while you build
Every team is assigned its own mentor. A mentor may support several teams, and can be working with teams from different branches at the same time.

GearFreezee and BLDE Association proudly announce the opening of team registrations for Ashwa 2026. Assemble your team and register today to lock in your submission track.
All teams participating in the Autonomous AI and Distributed Cloud tracks will receive dedicated high-performance compute credits and API vouchers starting Round 1.
Play fair
Teams must comprise 2 to 4 members. Inter-disciplinary and cross-college collaborations are actively welcomed. Every team member must present a valid university or corporate ID.
All application code, models, and configurations submitted for evaluation must be authored during the hackathon lifecycle. Open-source libraries, pretrained weights, and third-party APIs are encouraged, provided their usage is explicitly declared in your README.
All preliminary rounds are evaluated blindly by verified judges using the public weighted rubric. Attempting to influence judges or circumvent team identity checks results in immediate disqualification.
Participants retain 100% intellectual property rights over everything conceived, coded, or deployed during Ashwa 2026. Neither GearFreezee nor the event hosts claim any ownership.
Good to know
Ashwa is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students, as well as early-career developers and researchers graduated within the last 2 years. Cross-institutional teams are fully permitted.
No. Ashwa 2026 is 100% free for all qualified participants. Meals, accommodation, high-speed WiFi, red-bull/coffee stations, cloud credits, and developer swag kits are fully provided for in-person finalists.
Ashwa requires teams of 2 to 4 builders to simulate real engineering teamwork. If you don't have a team yet, register as an individual and join our official WhatsApp / Discord team-formation channels to match with other high-velocity builders.
The total prize pool exceeds ₹5,00,000 in cash and grants: Grand Champion receives ₹2,50,000 + Incubation; 1st Runner Up receives ₹1,50,000; 2nd Runner Up receives ₹75,000; plus ₹25,000 track-specific bounties for Best AI Solution, Best All-Women Team, and Cloud Architecture.
All shortlisted teams receive AWS cloud compute credits, Anthropic / OpenAI API access vouchers, GitHub Copilot student perks, and on-site hardware testbenches for embedded / robotics tracks.
Unlike generic hackathons where mentors wander around, Ashwa pairs each shortlisted team with an assigned industry specialist who conducts dedicated code reviews, architecture critiques, and debugging sessions.
